Guidelines for preparation and submission of Internship
Diary & Report (BA LL.B. / BBA LL.B.

Paper: Internship (Lawyer/ Law Firm) Paper Code: LLB 504
The students are requested to note the following:
1. The Minimum period of Internship shall be 12 weeks (3 Months). The internship period
shall commence from 1 January 2025.
2. In pursuance of requirement mandated by the University the student is required to do
Internship under Lawyers, Law Firms and Hon’ble Judges of High Court and Supreme
Court of India.
3. Upon successful completion of your internship, you are required to submit the following:
(a) Internship Certificate in support of your association with the designated place of
internship. If the student has undertaken more than one internship or worked under
more than one lawyer/ law firm during the prescribed period of 12 weeks, students
are required to submit the internship certificates of all the internships.
(b)Internship Daily Diary along with consolidated Internship Report
4.DAILY DIARY
(a) Content of Daily Diary: Students have to maintain a diary and shall record on
daily basis the internship activities including task assigned during internships. The
interns are required to ensure that the dates and place of professional
exposure/training, brief details of client meetings including necessary details of
court proceedings/ observations are mentioned in the diary. The diary should be
properly dated.
(b) Format of Daily Diary: (i) The daily diary must be in handwritten form.
(ii) The diary should be properly dated.
(iii) For purpose of daily diary students are advised to
record daily noting in any A4, ruled Diary.
5. INTERNSHIP REPORT
a. On the basis of internship activities mentioned in daily diary, the students are required
to prepare a consolidated internship report.
b. Content of Internship Report:
• It shall present a detailed account of various tasks handled by the students during
internship.
• The report must include in Introduction

A brief account of Organization/place of internship
The internship experience – reasons for the choice of the firm, law
office, etc.
Objectives of internship – what could the students learn from the
internship;
How many hours per week the students spent with the
officer/lawyer/firm etc. and
Overview of the nature of internship, kind of tasks assigned to the
intern, primary duties and responsibilities of the intern.
The Report must include in Main Content: at least 24 cases/ research work
(in total) giving sufficient details of the same as provided below.
For each case attended/ worked the intern must record the
proceedings in minimum 2 to 3 pages per case. It shall include details
such as: Name/ Place of Court Visited, Case Title, nature of dispute,
issues and brief facts of the case, proceedings of the day and next date
etc.
For every research work, the research topic/ issue/ question should be
specified at the outset. Research should be supported by duly authentic
sources. Please note that research of general/ vague topics will not be
counted for evaluation. The research topic shall pertain to a relevant
legal issue.
(c) Format of Internship Report:
The report shall be typed in 12 font and with 1.5 line spacing in Times
New Roman, justified.
It should be minimum of 50-60 pages (excluding Annexures).
Students are required to submit one hard bound copy of the report.
Each page of the report shall be duly numbered.
The following margin should be observed:
Left Margin: 1.5 inches
Top, Bottom, and Right-Hand Margin: 1 inch wide.
(d) Sequence of documents in Internship Report:
The report shall follow the given sequence
Cover Page of Report (as per the Annexure given below)
Undertaking by Candidate (as given in Annexure attached below)
Declaration (as given in Annexure attached below)
Acknowledgement
List of Abbreviations
Index (mention list of 24 cases/ research work by title/ issue involved)

6. Instructions for submissions and viva
The students shall attach at the end of Internship Report, a copy of duly signed
certificate(s) of internship from the concerned authority/ lawyer.
Students shall carry original copy of such internship certificate(s) at the time of
viva.
Students are required to bring their Internship Diary and Internship Report at the
time of final viva.
Upon completion of internship, latest by 5th April 2025, Students are required to
submit soft copies of their internship certificate with details regarding place of
internship. No extension of time will be provided on any grounds. No student
will be allowed to take their final viva if they fail to upload the soft copies of their
internship certificates.
7. Instructions regarding Supervisors
Students shall report regarding the progress of internship to their respective
supervisors. The supervisors for internship diary shall be the same as allotted for
dissertation work.
Every student is required to apprise their mentors on regular basis the progress
of their internship report.
Before, final submission the report shall be signed by respective supervisor.
